Determination of Mucilage in The Sea of Marmara Using Remote Sensing Techniques with Google Earth Engine

In this study, a methodology has been developed for the detection of mucilage with help remote sensing (UA) techniques by considering current formation in Sea Marmara. For purpose, from10.03.2021 to 06.06.2021 was determined classification Sentinel-2 (MSI) satellite images using Random Forest (RF) algorithm on Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Water (NDWI), Modified (MNDWI) and Automated Extraction (AWEI) indexes were used classification. 5 different date ranges availability cloud ratio. first range (10.03.2021-30.03.2021), image detected Dardanelles Strait. following dates, spread towards Gulf Izmit Gemlik addition determined. Finally, dated between 17.05.2021-06.06.2021, it seen that density increased Strait, Gulf, Erdek Kap?da? Peninsula north Marmara Island. The area covered as last calculated 12,741.94 ha, value shows 1.07% is mucilage. With methodology, can be quickly within minutes high accuracy from anywhere world.
